Prashanti graduated from the University of Michigan and studied numerous healing modalities in Ann Arbor. He moved to India in 1990 to study Advaita and the Vedic Sciences including Ayurveda, Vastu shastra (Vedic Feng shui), Yoga, Jyotish (Vedic astrology), and started a practice as an Ayurvedic consultant.

During 1993, to ensure high quality formulas for his clients he started Organic India, an Ayurvedic herb company in North India where he grew, wildcrafted and processed the herbs by hand. 

In 1997 he moved back to the USA and set up the marketing/training side of Organic India, started a clinical practice, worked on the board of the California Association of Ayurvedic Medicine for two years, and joined the staff of the Rishikesh College of Ayurveda.
